Designed for flexibility
-
Artalendar was designed to accommodate your uniqueness.
No straight linesStraight lines encourage linear thinking. Let's face it… there's already plenty of encouragement for linear thinking in our lives. The easiest way to think outside the box is to throw out the box.
Watermarked graphicsAnother box-disposal feature. Sure, there is guidance to put certain appointments, tasks, or other information in certain locations, but these are just suggestions. The faded watermark allows you to write outside the lines and use the space to suit your needs.- Got lots of calls to make this week? Steal space from Correspondence.
- Don't like to meditate? Use that space to list more books you want to read.
Upside-down/right-side-upArtalendar is designed to facilitate usage whichever way works for you. Since most of us can read a few words upside-down without getting a headache, there is no problem using your Artalendar portrait, landscape, catty-corner, or whichever way strikes your fancy this week. Don't feel obligated to orient your writing to the heading (if you're using one). Just do what feels natural.
Undated pagesWhen we did product testing and focus groups, this was a hotly debated topic. In the end, we decided on flexibility. Yes, you do have to write in the dates each week, but look at what you get in return:- Include only the weeks that matter to you. Need to schedule something three months out? Just pull out a blank page, and add the date and the appointment.
[Hint: Put a divider between the current contiguous pages and the scattered future pages.
Keep a couple blank pages in your binder.]
- Don't like how this week is warming up? Recycle the sheet and try again.
- Going on vacation? Don't waste those pages on non-existent appointments. Very eco-friendly.
- Pages never expire. Save any unused sheets at the end of the year. When you're feeling uninspired, pull out last year's design for a few weeks. See if that doesn't jog your creativity.
3-Hole PunchedThe holes are the standard interval for any 3-hole binder. Some options for housing your Artalendar:
- Use a favorite binder you already have. This is always the most eco-friendly alternative.
- Get book rings. These are hinged rings that look like binder rings without the binder. We don't recommend a specific brand; just do an internet search for "loose-leaf rings" or "book rings" and you'll find plenty of options. Office supply stores generally carry them too.
- Use a UniKeep. They are an eco-friendly binder alternative, with the added benefit of being able to turn them inside out spiral-style. The rigid cover makes a nice writing and doodling surface.
